    Description

    This is a very fine First World War I 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class on its original ribbon that remains in excellent condition. The stove black finish to the iron core of this cross is with a beautiful finish on both the obverse and reverse sides. The crown, letter “W” and the “1914” date is in high relief as is the “FW” oak leaves and “1813” date on the reverse. The silver frame is with an attractive age toned patina and without separation. The raised serrated bead is sharp and finely detail. The jumper ring for the ribbon is without marking. This is a fine example of the classic Prussian award for combat heroism and one that remains in excellent condition.
