WWI GERMAN 1914 IRON CROSS 3-PLACE MEDAL BAR

Description

This is a fine First World War German 3-Place Paraded Mounted Medal bar that is in excellent condition. It consists of the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class, the 1914-1918 Hindenburg Honor Cross with swords for combatant, and the 25 Year Civilian Long Service Cross. The Iron Cross is with an unblemished stove black finish to the iron core on both sides. The silver frame is with an attractive age toned patina and a sharp, well-defined serrated bead around the outside edge. The Hindenburg Honor Cross is with a smooth bronze finish and maker marked on the reverse with, ‘FO&B’. The 25-Year Service Cross retains all the original milk white frosting and is with burnished highlights. The black enamel on the national emblem is undamaged and intact. The reverse is a bright, shiny metal bar. The undamaged ribbons are double draped, padded, and with good color. The long swing pin and catch assemblies are both present and remain functional. A nice-looking medal bar that remains in excellent, undamaged condition.
