Anyway these kind of tiles can be found in different condition If I had to estimate from 1 to 10 where 10 is best condition one these tiles exist, I can say these are definetly 8 that means that these tiles are in very fine condition Color is vibrant and fresh but some minimal chips exist as you can see in sample images, on edges, this is quite normal, and is usually hidden when grouting. Summing up regarding condition these tiles are is absolutelly STANDARD. Cement on reverse was carefully removed so minimal traces are remaining. In particular this pattern is listed in specialized catalogue isbn-9974-39-139-3 Catalogo de azulejos franceses del siglo XIX by Architect Alejandro Artucio

    ABOUT Faïence de Desvres
These tiles you are buying,  are ORIGINAL 1850ies tiles that arrived River Plate from France. They measure 11x11 centimeters what is aprox 4.25 x 4.25 inches. They Come from North France Region Pas Calais close to Belgium and city of Delft ,that is why very similar to Dutch style tiles. And came in very important quantities as ballast needed for sail ships.
Once in Sout America, were used in houses in patios and water piles both as decoration and,  to protect constructions from water splash. Also were used in cupolas in main churches of our country.
Recently Catalogued each tile pattern was numbered, and more than 200 patterns were classified in Catalogo de azulejos franceses del siglo XIX hallados en Argentina Uruguay y Brasil (ISBN9974391393) in this work is revealed that major ports for these tile exportations were Montevideo (Uruguay capitol) and Argel (Algeria ).
These wonderful tiles ( azulejos carreaux ) are one of most exquisite item you can acquire for your home decor. They match very well either with traditional or modern architecture, used like accents or as in frieze in the outside. On stoves and fireplace with wood, summing up they will go well with everything. Mixing different patterns is a good idea too, as you will have a uniform looking as all these tiles were done using the same white tone and allways the same ultramarineblue and dark purpleviolet.  but also variety of patterns exist. Also the "geometric key" is always the same diagonal directions mixed with vertical and horizontal.
