To my bidders: For years I have done business on eBay using the name: gpstorageco*. The items I will be selling from this point on are being sold from my estate and from the estates of friends and relatives.
These Original Imperial German Medals belonged to a friend of mine who recently passed away. He set aside vintage military items over the years. These medals in their vintage/period frame were wall mounted in his display room.
These Original Imperial German medals are as found in my friends estate. The brace is clean/intact overall and measures about 6 inches across (see photos). The medals are an Iron Cross 2nd Class, a Hindenburg Cross & three Austrian medals (see photos). The Iron Cross First Class was pinned below the brace in the frame (see photos). The medal ribbons are completely intact but the Iron Cross ribbon is slightly sun bleached (see photos). There is a working horizontal pin mounted to the gray felt backing for suspension on the brace reverse (see photos). The Iron Cross 1st Class has a working pin & catch to the reverse and is maker marked KO below the catch (see photos).
I believe my friend purchased theses medals from the Veteran already mounted in the case and that they came to the US that way. The framed display measures 7 x 8.5 x 2.25 inches and the heavy wood frame has a glass front (see photos). There is a hook closure to the lower front and two metal loops to the reverse for mounting the frame to the wall (see photos). The cloth to the case inner is tacked all around the perimeter and there are slightly enlarged holes where the brace pin punctured the material (see photos). Also note the old chip to the lower right of the frame (see photos).
This medal brace was probably a WWI or WWII Vet bringback souvenir. Great opportunity for the Imperial German medal collector. Absolutely guaranteed authentic Imperial German period pieces. Really an excellent display.
