Ribbons are partially faded. The swords device oxidized.
The ribbons are UV NEGATIVE, except the red dye on the Hessian ribbon.
It is a typical feature of some German
(Hessen, Bavarian, Baden) ribbons with red (orange, pink, yellow) stripes, which were dyed with
bioluminescent (naturally UV active) material.
This should be considered as
UV positivity of the dye, not of material (cotton) itself.
