The Decoration was instituted on 27 January 1905 by Emperor and King Wilhelm II.
This award was intended, among other things, to take into account the high importance of the state railways
in the civilian and military life of entire state. Awarded were employees of the Prussian state railway

The design was created by the emperor himself who draw a sketch after which the decoration was made.
A rare award, very scarce to see in miniature variation.
