Cased Iron Cross, 1st Class With Outer Paper Box

Hello, here I have for your consideration is a WW1 Iron Cross, 1st class, complete with the presentation case and the outer paper box. The Iron Cross is made of three-piece conduction with a magnetic iron core, and the iron core is painted with black paint and has minor rust. The presentation case shows signs of wood warping due to its age. This Iron Cross is maker marked under the catch, but I am unable to read it because the rear of the medal is covered by patina. This is an original item.
