Baoulé Goli Glin Mask - Ivory Coast

Dimensions of 66 x 32 x 27 cms.
Weight of about 4,040 kgs.
Materials: Wood, polychromy.
Presumed age: 1950s to 1960s.
Golin Goli mask (Baoulé ethnic group, Béoumi region).
The Goli Glin is a special mask, which cannot be seen by women when dancing. Bells struck at a certain rhythm accompany the dancer, and at the sound of these bells, the women take refuge inside their house.
Old and authentic piece, sold in its own juice.
