Dan mask - Ivory Coast
Product Description
ENGLISH SPEAKING
Total height of 46 cms on base.
Dimensions of the mask with the ornaments of 34 x 20 x 8 cms.
The mask alone measures 25 cms in height.
Weight approximately 0.620 kg without packaging for the mask, 0.300 kg for the wooden and metal base.
Materials: Wood, metal, felt, cowry shells, animal teeth and bones, beads, bronze bells, cotton, natural fibers and magical filler.
Presumed age: Mid 20th century.
Extraordinary mask of the Dan ethnic group, located in the west of Côte d'Ivoire.
"Zakpeï" type mask, identifiable by the felt covering the face.
The piece benefits from high quality ornaments, visible in the photos.
The mask is sold with the custom-made base visible in the photos.
