Antique James Deakin & Sons Egyptian Revival Sphinx Epergne Centerpiece/Candle

pleased
to offer this fine example of Art Deco Egyptian Revival Epergne by James Deakin and Sons.  This Epergne stands approx. 13 1/2 inches tall and is approx. 7 1/2 inches wide.  It is stamped on the
bottom
JD & S, EP,  the hand bell hallmark, and the number 15481.  The terminals underneath are stamped Sheffield under the wing nuts. Each end is accented with the Sphinx and the piece is ornately stamped with flowers and hearts.  Each foot is appears to be a serpent with wings.   The silver plate is worn in some places and appears to be brass underneath.
