    19c Authentic Bulgarian Ethno Wool Belt, Hand Weaving with peel (220 x 6.5 cm).
    The belts are probably the most elaborate part of the Bulgarian costume (see: YouTube-
    "Колани, тъкани на кори - Шумен")
    . They are weaved using thin squares and a wooden knife. The dices, or as they are better known in our country - "bark," have in each corner a hole through which the thread of the base is strung. The base is stretched along with the boards between the two edges of an arched wood or, later, a specially made loom. According to the belt width, the number of boards is different. Woven threads are woven and interlaced through the threads of the base, and they are bent with the knife, which in this case plays the role of brussels. In Bulgaria, the weaving belts were made as a gift by the girl, and on the wedding day they are worn over the shoulder. Then, on festive days, they are worn around the waist.
