    Description

1887 autographed note of Edward Stuyvestant Bragg (1827-1912), a union general in the civil war and Wisconsin congressman 1877-1883 and 1885-87. Rather uncomplimentary quote towards an autograph seeker; datelined from Fond du Lac, WI.  Bragg raised and was captain in Company E, 6th Wisconsin, part of the Iron Brigade.  He eventually became the unit's colonel, and was promoted to brigadier genreal in June 1864.  Mounted to album page.
