    Description

This is a great lot of (10) vintage Columbus Ohio invoice/receipts that are all dated 1864 - 1866. These are all detailed with notations on the reverse. The notations on these items include "wages", "1,923 lbs. brown corn", "3,320 lbs. brown corn", "305 1/2 lbs. butter", etc. They are in nice condition and each example has a U.S. revenue tax stamp. These each measure approx. 7 1/8 inches by approx. 2 1/2 inches and these are offered as found in the estate of an ex-Liquor Dealer/Opium Dealer and war veteran.
These were all jobbers for the "Blind Asylum" (Ohio Institution for The Blind) in Columbus. These are all marked in that way. The original structure was torn down in the 1870's and the subsequent structure still stands at the corner of Parsons and Main in Columbus.
Most of these items have nice edges and corners, uniform color, handstamps/handcancelled stamps, great vintage print and handwriting, graphics, content, etc. There is no foul odor. This is a nice , crisp and clean lot and these are all in nice condition. Early post Civil war detailed local to Columbus Ohio information.
