1862 Civil War 72nd PA MUSTER ROLL w/70+ names Baxters Philadelphia Fire Zouaves
Over the years i've had 100s of muster rolls. Quite a few you run into don't have many names, are smaller sized even have mending tape etc from long time ago. This one has over 70 names on it . I'm sure if someone did genealogy on the names something further would be found or someone famous here as previous ones relating to soldiers fighting in famous battles have always done quite well. In addition to names you would have locations / cities / towns listed throughout that also have collectors of. Obvious old mending tape has held it together and overall on the folds is still decent. They were recruited from volunteer fire companies in Philadelphia and originally were part of Col. Bakers California Brigade. They eventually from what I read fought at Gettysburg like a year later from the date on this roll.
I took pictures with the flash on my camera so color & focus may be off. ?'s please ask.
