    Description

1855 letter written and signed by James Samuel Wadsworth (1807-1864), a wealthy New York landowner who became a brigadier general in the civil war, including significant combat at Gettysburg.  Wadsworth was shot in the head and captured at the wilderness; he died in a confederate field hospital.  Letter appears to deal with business matters.
